Under the patronage and presence of H.H the Amir NBK celebrates six decades of serving Kuwait

National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) organized a ceremony to celebrate its 60th anniversary, under the patronage and presence of H.H the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, H.H the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Speaker of the National Assembly Ahmad Al Saadoun, H.H the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al Mubarak Al Ahmad Al Sabah, along with other senior officials and NBK board members and executives.
Nasser Al Sayer, NBK Vice Chairman delivered a speech on behalf of NBK Chairman Mohammad Al Bahar expressing his deep appreciation for His Highness’s contribution in commemorating this important milestone. 
Al Sayer said: “This year, NBK celebrates its 60th anniversary. As the first national bank and Shareholding Company in Kuwait and the GCC, NBK dedicates its continuous success to Kuwait, where NBK belongs and has developed from a small bank that occupies the area of three shops to one of the largest and most profitable banks in the region.”
“NBK continues today to set the standard and maintains its leadership in the local and regional markets. Today, NBK is the highest rated and best bank in the Middle East and one of the World’s Safest Banks,” Al Sayer noted.
“Today, NBK has the largest local and overseas banking network encompassing more than 176 branches, representative offices and subsidiaries strategically located within the main international and regional financial centers. NBK could not have achieved all these accomplishments without the support and dedication of its valuable customers and employees,” Al Sayer added.
Al Sayer stressed that “NBK has a long tradition in supporting social and community-oriented activities in the country. Today, NBK maintains its leading position as one of the country's largest employers in the private sector. We are proud to have more than 2000 Kuwaiti employees.”
During the ceremony, NBK showed a documentary that highlighted NBK’s history and contributions in the development of the national economy.

NBK… 60 years of achievements

On 19 May, 1952, the late Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, issued the famous Amiri Decree promulgating the incorporation of the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) as the first national bank and the first shareholding company in Kuwait and the Gulf.
The commemoration of this inspiring and monumental anniversary comes as a culmination of a remarkable story of success, by means of which NBK has been transformed from a small bank that occupies the area of three shops and a handful of employees relying on traditional and manual banking tools to one of the largest and most profitable banks in the region.
Today, NBK has the largest local and overseas banking network encompassing more than 176 branches, representative offices and subsidiaries strategically located within the main international and regional financial centers. 
NBK was also recently named among the ‘World’s 50 Safest Banks’ for the fifth consecutive time, illustrating the success of the bank’s conservative strategy, prudent risk management dedication excellent customer service.
NBK enjoys the highest credit ratings among all the banks in the Middle East and North Africa region by international rating agencies Moody's, Standard & Poor's, and Fitch Ratings.

NBK honors His Highness the Amir

 

NBK Vice Chairman Nasser Al Sayer, on behalf of NBK Chairman Mohammad Al Bahar, presented to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, his first account at NBK in rupees opened on February 12, 1953 and the first check issued to his order from the ministry of Finance on February 3, 1953. 
Al Bahar praised the leadership of His Highness and his continuous support to the national economy and to the development of Kuwait.

NBK honors first customers

National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) honored its first customers for their continuous support and commitment to NBK since its establishment six decades ago. 
The honored customers are; Bader Khaled Al Bader, Mohammad Saleh Behbehani, Meshari Mohammad Al Jassim, Nasser Mohammad Al Sayer and Suleiman Abdullah Al Eiban, and Abdel latif Ali Shehab.
